This book contained an excellent display of detailed illustrations and factual information that comprehensively covered the history of naval warfare.
i bought this as a gift for a co-worker who loves war history and naval history. the book is amazing and has great vivid pictures along with tons of facts. im very impressed
Battle at Sea,,,this is an absolutely super book, can't put it down, full of amazing photographs and illustrations.A real collection book to have in your library and for young boys too. Makes a wonderful gift.
Simply a staggering amount of information beautifully presented. The book easily meets its goal, and a bargain at this price. If you read every entry this book will keep you busy and entertained for some time.
A beautifully produced full color book of 3,000 years of navel warfare. What I like the most is the wonderful way that the author and his team collected the hundreds of mostly full color photographs and illustrations that make the book come alive. The people, the ships and the weapons are all presented and tied to each other and their era. Well done if you like the sea and navies.
I originally looked for a book on Naval History for a young man graduating from College. There were many that looked good to choose from when I spotted this one. It is an awesome picture book but also full of information. It has a captivating layout and a wealth of illustrations. The reviews I read were all positive and true. I knew my husband would like it too so I ordered one for him for Father's day. When we gave the gift to the young man, he loved it...throughout the day either one or both of them were in that book! I thought my husband was going to hide it so he would forget it at our house! He was very glad to receive his own and has been enjoying it very much!
It is a big hit with both of the men who received it!
My husband and I fell in love with DK (especially the Smithsonian line) during a trip to the Smithsonian museums. The books are filled with an immense amount of information which is presented in a fascinating, readable way. Of course the author couldn't include absolutely every single detail about the subject at hand, but they still did a wonderful job. The photos are gorgeous and a perfect complement to the information being presented. The books themselves have sturdy binding and stout construction.
