I have read every book in this series, her Freebirds series, and her KPD series... She tells good stories, but it horrible with timelines and consistency. For example, in this book, chapter 4, Tru's niece was born two and a half years ago, next page she is almost 5 and going in to kindergarten. It is terribly frustrating. If you have read her Freebirds series, you know Sam wants nothing to do with the motorcycle club, in this book it is randomly thrown in he is the president of his own chapter. This book relied so much on the MC yet Torren never gives Tru a property patch, what the heck? Such a big deal in the rest of the series, but not this one? Sloppy job by Ms. Vale. As with all the books there are quite a few grammatical mistakes that cannot be ignored. I realize this is the last book and she was moving on to the KPD series, but this was thrown together with not much character development and A LOT of secondary characters that we have not met before, with no development or depth in the last book. I also could not believe the MC members, especially the women, would just allow Tunnel's widow to lose it at the bar and not help. Just remark upon it and never to touch the subject again. Ms. Vale can tell good stories, but I expect more quality from someone who has worked with the same characters for years, yet cannot keep a timeline, do simple math, or keep characters straight. Sloppy, with bad editing.Tags : Charge To My Line (The Heroes of The Dixie Wardens MC Book 6) - Kindle edition by Lani Lynn Vale. Charge To My Line The Heroes of The Dixie Wardens MC Book 6 edition by Lani Lynn Vale Romance eBooks Reviews
I was really surprised how much I loved Tru & Grayson! Nobody calls him Grayson but Tru. Well, and then her family starts. *grin* I enjoyed their dynamic & relationship a lot!
This also has some super sad stuff going on, and oh my goodness! Even knowing the future of the story because I've read the other books, it was still heartbreaking. Still, it highlighted something that is my favorite thing about this author, and that's her ability to have built this HUGE world full of characters & towns & everything - and they're ALL CONNECTED one way or another. I love it, love it, LOVE IT! )
4.5 stars
I just LOVE how strong & steady this series is! I look forward to each new installment, knowing I'll fall in love with the characters!! Charge To My Line was no different than the last few books in that it was AWESOME and unputdownable!
It was so stinkin' easy to LOVE Grayson aka Torren and Tru. They were extremely adorable together and their chemistry was off the charts HOT!
Tru was such a fun heroine. Choosing "Highway To Hell" for her special day, the "private" butterflies she felt for Grayson, taking off her pants first thing when she walked in the door, when she got "drunk as a skunk"... all of those things made me fall in love with her. She came across as a very genuine person and I loved how down-to-earth she was, as are all of the Dixie Warden women. I enjoyed reading about her growing friendship with Rue and how she never gave up in her pursuit of Grayson when things took a sudden turn in their relationship.
Grayson was a great alpha Hero. He was incredibly sexy, he was sweet (especially when he admitted that he loved all of Tru's "extras") and he was never afraid to show affection for his woman, just like all of the other Dixie Warden men. I liked how protective he was of Tru but was not fond of what he chose to do (in regards to their relationship) when Tru's life was being threatened. I understand he was desperate to keep her safe but my stomach just completely bottomed out when he announced it in front of everyone at the bar. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long before things got back to normal, relationship-wise, for them but that darn Molly... ugh.
I was a big fan of the danger element in the story- stalkers/crazy psychos story lines always create that creepy, heart pounding drama, that feeling of uncertainty that just makes you flip the pages to check and see if everything will turn out alright. I didn't quite dig the stalker's connection to Grayson (that was a little bit too soap-opera-y for me) but I like how everyone teamed up to take him out/put him away.
The sex scenes were steamy and made me squirm in my seat. On water beds, right before "cake consumption", in the boss' chair... all were quite panty-melting.
The chapter titles were once again hilarious- love them to pieces! I look forward to each one of them in EVERY Lani Lynn Vale book!!
Can't wait to read the next book in the series! If the characters keep coming out with this level of awesome-ness, I don't want to see The Dixie Wardens series ever coming to an end!!
