This is a Hallmark Christmas movie on the page. IT's as sweet as your favorite Christmas Cookie and just as delicious. Nancy Naigle does an amazing job of telling a story as old as time yet making it new and bright.
Joy is a hard working, big city executive who does nothing but work. She is waiting to hear about a promotion that would mean even more work. She isn't a Grinch but she doesn't have time to celebrate Christmas. She lost her Christmas spirit when her mom died when Joy was 17.
Ben is a small town hospital accountant who loves all things Christmas. Besides decorating his house and the hospital, he helps out all over town to make sure Christmas is in the air. He also competes with his mom in the local Gingerbread House contest and helps his grandmother's friend (Joy's aunt) decorate for the local Cookie Tour of homes to make sure that her farm wins the competition.
When Joy gets a call that her aunt has fallen and broken her ankle she drops everything and drives the 5 hrs from DC to NC to help. When an overnight hospital stay turns into a few weeks in a rehab facility, Joy makes the decision to stay in town to help out at the farm and get it ready for the contest. Luckily, Ben comes along to help out.
Nancy Naigle does an amazing job with these two characters as Joy goes through a change of heart to realize there is more to life than work but can a long distance relationship work out. This is a great book anytime but it really works during the Christmas season. The story is so warm and cozy you want to sit on the couch in front of a warm fire with a cup of cocoa while reading it. Do yourself a favor ad read this book.

This was such a good story. I was pulled in and didn't want to put it down
Nancy Naigle nailed it with this outstanding story. All the excitement, anticipation, and joy that creates the Christmas spirit were evident in her book. It was a wonderful reading experience. I'd love to read more about Crystal Falls in another novel.
This is a real Christmas book and perfect to get you in the holiday spirit.
The characters are great and I love Aunt Ruby.
Nancy Naigle's books are as always very well written.
Highly recommended.

This will be a Hallmark Christmas movie in 2018. I am really looking forward to seeing it. Wonderful story of facing your past and healing. Highly recommend this book.
I loved most of the story. The main character rediscovering the Joy of Christmas. The problem is with the ending. The characters figure things out way too fast in the last few pages of the book! Very Disappointing!

The last six percent is an ad for a new book. This book is well-written and well-edited. I found the book to be slow and building (which I like) and I felt like I got a good grip on the the characters, including the secondary characters. I liked that there wasn't a lot of "recap" about feelings, which I really appreciated. I loved the Christmas angle and the details about that. This is the perfect book to take your time and enjoy.
